Regular Season Round 21: Naron - Innova Chef 72-70

Date: February 25, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Innova Chef (7-11) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Naron (11-7) 72-70 on Saturday. Innova Chef was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 5-point lead after three quarters before a 18-11 charge of Naron, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Matt Stoll (201-92, college: Ferris St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Samuel Barros (190-98) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Naron players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Gabriel Roman (185-97) added 13 points in the effort for Innova Chef. Innova Chef's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Naron maintains sixth place in Group A-B with 11-7 record, which they share with Ponferrada CDP. Loser Innova Chef dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Naron will face Vigo VGO (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Innova Chef will play against Betanzos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
