Regular Season Round 19: Geneve Lions - Neuchatel 84-68

The game between third ranked Neuchatel (10-7) and fourth ranked Geneve Lions (11-6) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Neuchatel was defeated by Geneve Lions in Geneve 84-68. The game was mostly controlled by Geneve Lions. Neuchatel managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Geneve Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Neuchatel's 32. It was a great evening for American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import forward Chris Braswell (206-89, college: Charlotte) helped adding 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Geneve Lions' coach Jean-Marc Jaumin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international Brian Savoy (189-92) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Five Geneve Lions and four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Geneve Lions moved-up to third place. Neuchatel at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Geneve Lions are looking forward to face Lugano Tigers (#4) on the road in the next round. Neuchatel will play against the league's second-placed Monthey and is hoping to win this game.
