Regular Season Round 22: Siena Virtus - Varese Robur 68-60

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Siena Virtus (10-12) defeated at home higher ranked Varese Robur (11-10) 68-60 on Saturday. Siena Virtus forced 20 Varese Robur turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for center Lorenzo Bruno (198-91) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Simone Lenardon (189-85) contributed with 11 points and 8 assists for the winners. Siena Virtus' coach Francesco Braccagni used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Giordano Pagani (205-98) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84, agency: Players Group) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Varese Robur. Siena Virtus moved-up to tenth place in B. Loser Varese Robur dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Siena Virtus will face higher ranked Valsesia (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
