There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Gran Canaria B (12-9) beat at home 4th placed Azuqueca (14-7) 82-70 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-70. It was a good game for Lithuanian center Rokas Gadiliauskas (205-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Joaquin Portugues (185-95) contributed with 16 points, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Gran Canaria B players scored in double figures. Jorge Tejera (200-92) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian power forward Branislav Tomic (205-80) added 14 points in the effort for Azuqueca. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Gran Canaria B maintains seventh place in Group B with 12-9 record. Loser Azuqueca keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Gran Canaria B will face Quintanar (#10) on the road in the next round. Azuqueca will play against Real Madrid II (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
