Regular Season Round 21: Aalstar - Liege 93-66

Date: February 25, 2017
The game with biggest result difference took place in Aalstar. Local Okapi Aalstar (11-11) outscored 10th ranked Liege Basket (6-16) 93-66 on Saturday night. Okapi Aalstar made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Liege Basket turnovers. The former international swingman Olivier Troisfontaines (192-89, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 25 points and 6 steals for the winners and Samoan-American power forward John Tofi (203-84, college: UTEP, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds. Troisfontaines is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Okapi Aalstar players scored in double figures. Okapi Aalstar's coach Steve Ibens felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was center Boris Penninck (202-88, agency: Promotex) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Stephane Moris (208-86, agency: Promotex) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Okapi Aalstar maintains seventh place with 11-11 record. Liege Basket lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Okapi Aalstar will meet higher ranked Spirou Charleroi (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Liege Basket will play against the league's second-placed Antwerp Giants (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
