Second Stage Round 3: Basket Esch - Heffingen 104-54

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Heffingen's (16-5) road loss to Basket Esch (10-11) 54-104 on Saturday. The game without a history. Basket Esch led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Heffingen to just 6 points in third quarter. Basket Esch shot 21 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Heffingen only scored four points from the stripe. Basket Esch forced 22 Heffingen turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Basket Esch especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Heffingen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Alexandre Rodenbourg (202-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Basket Esch players scored in double figures. Basket Esch's coach Franck Meriguet felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Mike Jones (203-83, college: N.Texas) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian center Dusan Sisic (206-90) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Heffingen. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
