Rather predictable result when third ranked Prievidza (21-10) defeated at home 6th ranked Iskra Svit (16-16) 93-78 on Saturday. They outrebounded Iskra Svit 44-24 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Prievidza looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Andre Jones (191-90, college: Winthrop) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) produced 24 points and Serbian point guard Sasa Avramovic (193-93, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains third place with 21-10 record having five points less than leader Kosice. Loser Iskra Svit keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Prievidza will meet Nova Ves (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Iskra Svit will play against the league's second-placed Inter Bratislava (#2) and hope to secure a win.
