Regular Season Round 42: Toyotsu FE - Kagawa FA 101-86

B League D2 top team - Toyotsu FE (30-10) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Kagawa FA (11-29) in Nagoya 101-86. The game was mostly controlled by Toyotsu FE. Kagawa FA was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyotsu FE dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 28. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 50-39 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!) and 21 rebounds (on 19-of-23 shooting from the field). Guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) contributed with 7 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Tetsuya Maemura (178-94) added 24 points in the effort for Kagawa FA. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyotsu FE have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-10 record. Kagawa FA lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 29 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face league's second-placed Fukushima on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kagawa FA will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
