Regular Season Round 36: Handlova - Kosice 88-90

Seventh-ranked Handlova (15-18) made lots of trouble for first ranked Kosice (27-5) in MBK Handlova on Wednesday. The visitors from Kosice managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by Handlova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Ladarius White (198-92, college: Mississippi) who scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Serbian power forward Nikola Siladji (208-92) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Pedja Stamenkovic (190-88, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international power forward Peter Sedmak (207-85, agency: 011 Sports) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kosice have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-5 record. Newly promoted Handlova dropped to the eighth place with 18 games lost. Kosice are looking forward to face Iskra Svit (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Handlova will play against Karlovka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
