Nevezis nipped Tartu Ulikool in Estonia in the opener. It looked good early as Tartu Ulikool took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nevezis had a 21-18 second period charge getting the lead and Tartu Ulikool was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-88. Nevezis made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) nailed 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Croatian guard Toni Prostran (182-91) accounted for 8 points and 15 assists. American guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and point guard Tanel Sokk (187-85) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively for Tartu Ulikool in the defeat.
