Regular Season Round 26: Caen - Lorient 97-92

NM1 top team - Caen (20-6) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat sixteenth ranked Lorient (10-16) 97-92. Caen forced 21 Lorient turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American power forward Richie Gordon (203-89, college: W.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. American-Cape Verdean swingman BJ Monteiro (196-90, college: Duquesne) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU) replied with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) added 22 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Lorient. Four Caen and five Lorient players scored in double figures. Caen have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-6 record. Newly promoted Lorient keeps the sixteenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with SAP Vaucluse. Caen are looking forward to face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lorient will play at home against UB Chartres and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
