Worth to mention about the upset in a game between BK Usti nad Labem (10-16) and MMCITE Brno (9-17), which took place in Brno. 8th ranked BK Usti nad Labem lost to eleventh ranked MMCITE Brno in a road game 82-90 on Saturday. The winners were led by American guard Kevin Ware (188-93, college: Georgia St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and center Jan Tomanec (205-85, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 12 points. MMCITE Brno's coach Zoran Helbich used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) did not help to save the game for BK Usti nad Labem. American swingman Khristian Smith (198-91, college: Indiana St.) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Five MMCITE Brno and four BK Usti nad Labem players scored in double figures. MMCITE Brno moved-up to ninth place in Places 7-12, which they share with NH Ostrava. Loser BK Usti nad Labem keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. MMCITE Brno will meet higher ranked Basketbal Svitavy (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BK Usti nad Labem will play against BK Lions Hradec and hope to secure a win.
