Regular Season Round 29: Union SF - Hindu 73-89

There was a small surprise in Santa Fe where first ranked Hindu (25-6) defeated leader Union SF (23-8) 89-73 on Thursday. The game without a history. Hindu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hindu outrebounded Union SF 40-27 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hindu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Pablo Fernandez (198-82) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. American Kenny Jones (198-84, college: Kentucky St., agency: DTMones) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Center Fernando Podesta (205-92) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Miguel Isola (197-83) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Hindu and four Union SF players scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Hindu have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-6 record which they share with defeated Union SF. Loser Union SF still keeps top position with eight games lost. Hindu will face Independiente BBC (#4) in the next round. Union SF will play against Barrio Parque in Cordoba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
