Regular Season Round 13: Hong Kong ELL - Alab Pilipinas 100-87

An interesting game for Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (15-2) which hosted in Hong Kong 3rd placed Filipino Alab Pilipinas (8-9). First ranked Hong Kong ELL managed to get a 13-point victory 100-87. The game was mostly controlled by Hong Kong ELL. Alab Pilipinas was better in third quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hong Kong ELL forced 19 Alab Pilipinas turnovers. Strangely Alab Pilipinas outrebounded Hong Kong ELL 47-34 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) stepped up and scored 23 points and 9 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds. Hong Kong ELL's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American-Filipino guard Bobby-Ray Parks (193-93, college: High School) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: Haylett Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Five Hong Kong ELL and four Alab Pilipinas players scored in double figures. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Hong Kong ELL. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Alab Pilipinas lost their third game in a row. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Hong Kong ELL will play against Saigon Heat (#4) at home in the next round. Alab Pilipinas will have a break next round.
