A very close game took place in Svitavy between MMCITE Brno and Basketbal Svitavy. Tenth ranked MMCITE Brno (10-17) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Basketbal Svitavy (11-16). MMCITE Brno managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Basketbal Svitavy. They outrebounded Basketbal Svitavy 43-27 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Michal Kremen (200-81) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Kevin Ware (188-93, college: Georgia St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. American forward Hunter Mickelson (208-92, college: Kansas) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and naturalized Slovakian Roman Marko (194-86) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for MMCITE Brno. They moved-up to ninth place in Places 7-12, which they share with NH Ostrava. Loser Basketbal Svitavy keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Usti n/Labem. MMCITE Brno will meet bottom-ranked Prostejov (#12) on the road in the next round. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Usti nad Labem (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
