There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Varese Robur (12-10) beat at home higher ranked Montecatiniterme (12-10) 71-65 on Saturday. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Silvio Innocenti (194-96) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Center Silvio Stanzani (207-96, agency: Interperformances) responded with 17 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and power forward Alessandro Tabbi (205-94) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Varese Robur moved-up to seventh place in B. Varese Robur will face higher ranked Valsesia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
