Regular Season Round 28: Angers BC - Challans 81-90

Date: March 11, 2017
No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Vendee Challans (14-14) defeated on the road 17th ranked Angers BC (11-17) 90-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-81. It was a great shooting night for Vendee Challans especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Demarco Cox (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) fired 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Emmanuel Monceau (195-95) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. American forward Will Carter (200-88, college: San Jose St., agency: HMS) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green, agency: HMS) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Angers BC's coach Vincent Lavandier tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vendee Challans have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with St Vallier and Chartres. Loser Angers BC dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Vendee Challans will face higher ranked ALS Basket (#7) in Andrezieux in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Angers BC will play on the road against Rueil (#4) and hope to win that game.
