Regular Season Round 22: Vasas - Kaposvari 82-89

Very expected game when 13th ranked Vasas (4-18) lost to sixth ranked Kaposvari (14-8) in Budapest 82-89. The guests were ahead by 3 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 21-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Kaposvari made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Winsome Frazier (193-82, college: Mississippi St., agency: Interperformances) chipped in 21 points during the contest. At the losing side forward AJ Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and point guard Ronnie Taylor (187-81, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 assists. Five Kaposvari and four Vasas players scored in double figures. Kaposvari moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Szolnok. Vasas lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Kaposvari will play against higher ranked Falco KC (#3) in Szombathely in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Vasas will play at home against Szolnok (#5) and hope to get back on the winning track.
