Regular Season Round 13: Alab Pilipinas - Hong Kong ELL 61-83

An interesting game for Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (15-2) which played road game in Manila against 3rd placed Filipino Alab Pilipinas (8-9). First ranked Hong Kong ELL had an easy win 83-61. The game was mostly controlled by Hong Kong ELL. Alab Pilipinas managed to win fourth quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hong Kong ELL made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks. His fellow American import guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. American-Filipino forward Lawrence Domingo (196-89, college: E.New Mexico) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American center James Hughes (211-83, college: N.Illinois, agency: Haylett Sports) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Alab Pilipinas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hong Kong ELL have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Alab Pilipinas lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Hong Kong ELL are looking forward to face Saigon Heat (#4) at home in the next round. Alab Pilipinas will play again against the league's leader Hong Kong ELL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
