Second Stage Round 3: GBA Sparta - Novy Jicin 77-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Novy Jicin's (7-14) road victory over GBA Sparta (5-16) 100-77 on Sunday. Novy Jicin dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to GBA Sparta's 42. GBA Sparta was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Jan Stehlik (185-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 5 steals (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Slovakian center Ondrej Soska (208-78) helped adding 23 points. The best for the losing side was Y Sidibe with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ukrainian Illia Niemtsu (201-98) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Novy Jicin will face Vysocina (#19) in Jihlava in the next round. GBA Sparta will play on the road against Havirov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
