Regular Season Round 22: Stelmet ZG - Energa Czarni 81-79

Tenth-ranked Energa Czarni (12-11) gave a tough game to first ranked Stelmet (17-6) in Zielona Gora on Sunday. Stelmet managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. 24 personal fouls committed by Energa Czarni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Montenegrin power forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Thomas Kelati (195-82, college: Washington St., agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Stelmet's coach Artur Gronek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American swingman Marcus Ginyard (196-87, college: N.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Chavaughn Lewis (196-93, college: Marist) scored 13 points. Five Energa Czarni players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-6 record. Energa Czarni at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Trefl Sopot. Stelmet are looking forward to face Polpharma (#10) in Starogard in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Rosa in Radom and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
