Leader Kosice delivered the thirtieth win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 11th ranked Nitra (3-32) 107-69. Kosice dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Nitra's 42 and made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Kosice forced 24 Nitra turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Nitra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian guard Stefan Matovic (203-91, agency: BeoExcell) fired 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). Four Kosice players scored in double figures. Croatian forward Eddi Jurjevic (202-93) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and guard Robert Rozanek (190-96) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kosice maintains first position with 30-6 record. Nitra lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 32 lost games. Kosice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play on the road against Handlova (#8) in MBK Handlova and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
