Regular Season Round 46: Ryukyu GK - San-en 70-67

Important game to mention about took place in Okinawa. Fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (20-24) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Sanen Neophoenix (25-19) 70-67 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sanen Neophoenix won third quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sanen Neophoenix 46-34 including 20 on the offensive glass. American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) notched 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) supported him with 7 points and 7 rebounds. Ryukyu GK's coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench in such tough game. Even a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds by Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) did not help to save the game for Sanen Neophoenix. The former international center Atsuya Ota (206-84) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Ryukyu GK have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Kyoto Hannar. Sanen Neophoenix lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 19 games lost. Ryukyu GK will again play against league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Sanen Neophoenix will have a break next round.
