Second Stage Round 9: LF Future - Wetterbygden 97-73

Everything could happen in Lulea at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked LF Future and 5th ranked Wetterbygden had identical 4-6 record. This time LF Future used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Huskvarna 97-73. It looked good early as Wetterbygden took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then LF Future had a 26-15 second period charge getting the lead and Wetterbygden was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-97. LF Future forced 20 Wetterbygden turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Brian Curry (185-86) nailed 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and guard Joel Svensson (185-96) accounted for 12 points and 8 assists. Five LF Future players scored in double figures. Bosnian forward Kemal Omerbasic (201-92) came up with 16 points and forward Torbjorn Svensson (195-89) added 14 points respectively for Wetterbygden in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. LF Future maintains fourth place in Superettan with 5-6 record. Wetterbygden at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. LF Future's next round opponent will be Trelleborg (#6) on the road. Wetterbygden will play against Alvik Basket in Bromma and hope to win that game.
