Regular Season Round 24: Catanzaro - Palestrina 79-75

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Palestrina (19-6) against eighth ranked Catanzaro (13-10) on Sunday night. Visiting Palestrina was defeated by Catanzaro in a tough game in Catanzaro 75-79. Catanzaro outrebounded Palestrina 43-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Palestrina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Nicolas Morici (193-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Devil Medizza (198-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Catanzaro players scored in double figures. Point guard Gianmarco Rossi (182-90) replied with 27 points and forward Riccardo Pederzini (198-89, agency: Players Group) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Palestrina. Palestrina's coach Gianluca Lulli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Catanzaro moved-up to sixth place in B. Palestrina at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Catanzaro's next round opponent will be league's leader Napoli Cuore at home and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Palestrina's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Roma Roma Vis Nova.
