Regular Season Round 3: Manly Warr. - Sydney Comets 77-105

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (3-2) were outleveled by Sydney City Comets (2-0) in Narrabeen 105-77 on Sunday. Sydney City Comets shot 24 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Manly Warringah Sea Eagles only scored six points from the stripe. Sydney City Comets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-91, college: W.Liberty St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Tom Dawson (197) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Sydney City Comets players scored in double figures. Sydney City Comets' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Point guard Luke Cooper (183-84, college: Alaska-Anch.) answered with 12 points and 9 assists and Cooper Wilks added 15 points in the effort for Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. Sydney City Comets will face Spiders (#4) in Hornsby in the next round. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will play on the road against Bankstown Bruins in Condell Park and hope to win that game.
