Regular Season Round 24: Ironi Nes-Ziona - Maccabi H/H 91-94

A very close game took place in Nes Ziyona between Hasharon and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Eighth ranked Hasharon (14-10) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (14-10). Hasharon managed to escape with a 3-point win 94-91 in the fight for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. Hasharon dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Nes-Ziona's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (196-87) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists and Golan Gutt (192-94) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hasharon have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Ironi Nes-Ziona. Hasharon will meet at home bottom-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hap.Haifa (#10) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Winner League just one year after relegation.
