Matanzas nipped Villa Clara in the opener. Guerreros outrebounded Villa Clara 30-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Danys Torrientes (190-85) who helped to win the game recording 27 points. The former international guard Yuniskel Molina (185-93) contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals for the winners. Guerreros' coach Jemmott Allen used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Neslier Abreu (187-93) answered with 34 points (!!!) and the former international swingman Andy Boffil (190-82) added 20 points and 8 steals in the effort for Villa Clara. Four Villa Clara players scored in double figures.
