Regular Season Round 24: Galil Elion - Hap.Haifa 85-86

Important game to mention about took place in Kazrin. Twelfth ranked Hap.Haifa (10-14) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Galil Elion (10-14) 86-85 in the fight for the tenth place. Strangely Galil Elion outrebounded Hap.Haifa 42-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jahmar Young (196-87, college: N.Mexico St.) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists and Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Hap.Haifa's coach Shaked Shoham used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Cinmeon Bowers (201-93, college: Auburn) scored 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Galil Elion players scored in double figures. Hap.Haifa have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hapoel Migd.H. and Galil Elion. Hap.Haifa will face higher ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (#5) in Nes Ziyona in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
