Very significant was Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL's (#1, 16-4) victory against 4th ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (8-11) 110-97. Hong Kong ELL dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Saigon Heat's 48 and made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Hong Kong ELL forced 20 Saigon Heat turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. American guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. The other American import power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) replied with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds and American-Panamanian center Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (214-89, college: Kansas St.) added 18 points and 25 rebounds in the effort for Saigon Heat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Hong Kong ELL maintains first position with 16-4 record. Saigon Heat at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Hong Kong ELL will have a break next round. Saigon Heat will play at home against the league's second-placed Singapore Slingers (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
