Regular Season Round 23: AE Larissas - Psychiko 69-71

A very interesting game took place in Larissas. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked AE Larissas (10-13) to seventh ranked Psychiko (12-11) 71-69 on Saturday evening. Forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Vasileios Mouratos (193-97) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Psychiko's coach Nikos Remendelas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Icelandic center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Apollon Deligiorgis (192-93) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for AE Larissas. Four AE Larissas players scored in double figures. Psychiko moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ethnikos and Holargos. AE Larissas lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Psychiko's next round opponent will be Doxa Pefkon (#11) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. AE Larissas will play against Pagrati in Athens and hope to win that game.
