We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Rosenheim (11-13) lost on the road to tenth ranked Ansbach (10-14) 73-67 on Saturday. Strangely Rosenheim outrebounded Ansbach 53-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. Rosenheim was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Naturalized Croatian point guard Goran Petrovic (184-77) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) replied with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Adrian-Constantin Gheorghiu (200-90) added 10 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Rosenheim. Ansbach maintains tenth position in South-East with 10-14 record, which they share with Leitershofen. Loser Rosenheim keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Ansbach will face Zwickau (#12) on the road in the next round.
