Date: March 26, 2017
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bamberg. Leader ratiopharm Ulm faced second-best Brose Baskets. Guests from Ulm (26-0) defeated host Brose Baskets (23-3) 84-79. Brose Baskets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American power forward Raymar Morgan (203-88, college: Michigan St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Chris Babb (196-90, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 19 points for the winners. International Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Darius Miller (202-90, college: Kentucky) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Brose Baskets. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brose Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ratiopharm Ulm have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-0 record. Defending champion Brose Baskets keep the second position with three games lost. ratiopharm Ulm will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Brose Baskets will play on the road against BG Goettingen and hope to get back on the winning track.
