Second Stage Round 7: Dnipro-2 - Ternopil-TNEU 75-63

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Dnepropetrovsk where 9th ranked Ternopil-TNEU (11-3) was defeated by tenth ranked Dnipro-2 (11-2) 75-63 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 31-6 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Dnipro-2 dominated on the defensive end, holding Ternopil-TNEU to just 6 points in third quarter. It was a great evening for forward Olexandr Tarasenko (199-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Yusuf Sanon (190-99) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side guard Andrij Shapovalov (187-93) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and Vladislav Ungurian scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ternopil-TNEU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dnipro-2 have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place. Loser Ternopil-TNEU dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Dnipro-2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Dnepropetrovsk to the arena KPZO DYUSH.
