Second Stage Round 8: BC Mess - Kordall Steelers 57-80

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mondercange. One of their biggest challengers host BC Mess (12-13) was smashed by third ranked Kordall Steelers (16-9) 80-57. The game without a history. Kordall Steelers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kordall Steelers forced 19 BC Mess turnovers and outrebounded them 46-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Marlin Mason (201-93, college: Cleveland St.) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Sascha Muepu (200-88) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kordall Steelers players scored in double figures. Swingman Alexandre Caurla (184-93) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Elijah Bonsignore (198, college: S.New Hampshire) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Kordall Steelers maintains third position in League with 16-9 record having seven points less than leader Amicale. BC Mess at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth place with 13 games lost. Kordall Steelers will meet league's leader Racing in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Mess will play against the league's second-placed Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
