Regular Season Round 24: Strasbourg - Chalon 84-60

The most important game in the last round took place in Strasbourg between third ranked Chalon/Saor (17-7) and sixth ranked Strasbourg IG (15-9) on Sunday night. Chalon/Saor was crushed by Strasbourg IG on the road 84-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chalon/Saor. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 52-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strasbourg IG forced 24 Chalon/Saor turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Chalon/Saor's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Paul Lacombe (195-90, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Polish point guard AJ Slaughter (191-87, college: W.Kentucky, agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) with 12 points and 8 assists and swingman Axel Bouteille (201-95) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Strasbourg IG have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Chalon/Saor at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost. Strasbourg IG is looking forward to face Chalons-Reims (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalon/Saor will play against Olympique Antibes (#16) and is hoping to win this game.
