Regular Season Round 25: Hap.Haifa - Ironi Nes-Ziona 74-88

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Hap.Haifa (10-15) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (15-10) 88-74. Ironi Nes-Ziona outrebounded Hap.Haifa 45-30 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Hap.Haifa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Elad Hofman (192-85) accounted for 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) came up with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jahmar Young (196-87, college: N.Mexico St.) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for Hap.Haifa in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona maintains fifth place with 15-10 record, which they share with Macc.Rehovot and Maccabi H/H. Newly promoted Hap.Haifa keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona's next round opponent will be Hapoel Afula (#9) at home. Hap.Haifa will play against Ironi Ramat Gan and hope to win that game.
