Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Naron (13-10) was defeated at home by fifth ranked BVM 2012 (15-7) 82-76 on Thursday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-19. But Naron won second period 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BVM 2012 won last quarter 27-22. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Naron outrebounded BVM 2012 51-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. Brazilian center Dida Pereira (203-92, college: Sequoias CC) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Hugo Rodriguez (186-76) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals during the contest. American forward Tim Gill (203-93, college: Clarion) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Matt Stoll (201-92, college: Ferris St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Naron's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BVM 2012 have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group A-B, which they share with Calidus Gal.COB. Loser Naron keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. BVM 2012 will face Betanzos (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Naron will play against Ponferrada CDP and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
