BC Lulea topped Umea for 1-0 lead. BC Lulea led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Umea's 38 and made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Umea 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international point guard Rudy Mbemba (184-87) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Gerald Williams (190-91, college: La Sierra) scored 17 points. Five BC Lulea and four Umea players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
