Regular Season Round 31: Lorient - Orchies 85-86

Thirteenth-ranked Lorient (13-18) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Orchesien BC (18-13) on Saturday. The visitors from Orchies managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lorient. It was a great shooting night for Orchesien BC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. Naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) fired 28 points and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Guard Mathieu Bigote (190-84) produced 25 points and 5 assists and American forward Jared Newson (196-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Inception Sports) added 19 points respectively for lost side. Orchesien BC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with RAC Basket and GET Vosges. Newly promoted Lorient keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Orchesien BC will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lorient will play on the road against Lourdes-Tarbes (#7) and hope to win that game.
