There was an upset when higher ranked Speyer (15-11) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (9-17) 85-71 on Saturday. Saarlouis/Dillingen outrebounded Speyer 52-29 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Dutch swingman Chaed Wellian (203-92, college: Tennessee St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) helped adding 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Saarlouis/Dillingen players scored in double figures. Saarlouis/Dillingen's coach Dennis Mouget used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was American center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and Spanish point guard Jordi Salto (190-90) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
