Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Leon (15-8) was defeated at home by first ranked Chantada (19-4) 70-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Chantada. Leon was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Jacobo De-Benito (180-90) scored 16 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Miguel-Antonio Garcia (193-94) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American Ted Hinnenkamp (201-93, college: Dickinson, agency: Duran International) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and American-Irish center Matt Wilson (206-92, college: Hartwick, agency: Duran International) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Leon's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chantada have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-B with 19-4 record. Loser Leon dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Chantada will face Innova Chef (#11) in Zamora in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leon will play on the road against Seis do Nadal (#14) in Vigo and hope to win that game.
