Regular Season Round 24: Arkadikos - Kavala 74-58

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Arkadia where 12th ranked Kavala (7-16) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Arkadikos (8-16) 74-58. The winners were led by power forward Efthimios Tsakaleris (207-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and center Savvas Tsougarakis (207-86) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 12 points and 6 assists by Polish-American guard Andy Mazurczak (188, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for Kavala. Forward Antonis Sklivas (203-95) added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Arkadikos moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Doxa Pefkon. Kavala at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Arkadikos' next round opponent will be GS Larissas (#15) at home. Kavala will play against the league's second-placed Iraklis where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
