Second Stage Round 6: Sokol Pisek - Havirov 99-53

There was no surprise when 20th ranked Havirov (3-21) was outplayed on the road by fourteenth ranked Sokol Pisek (13-12) 99-53 on Sunday. Sokol Pisek dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Havirov's 32. They outrebounded Havirov 57-24 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sokol Pisek looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Havirov's players. Swingman Petr Slechta (192-95) scored 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Pavel Englicky (210-83) chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Sokol Pisek players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Jan Leczo (198-96) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Vojtech Jancik (181-96) scored 19 points and 4 assists. Sokol Pisek moved-up to thirteenth place in Places 13-20. Loser Havirov stay dead last with 21 lost games. Sokol Pisek will face Ostrava (#17) on the road in the next round. Havirov will play against Vysocina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
