Regular Season Round 27: Jesi - Roseto 87-79

There was an upset when higher ranked Roseto (16-11) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Jesi (12-15) 87-79 on Sunday. Jesi looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: S.Mississippi) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Power forward Andrea Benevelli (202-85) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Jesi players scored in double figures. Jesi's coach Damiano Cagnazzo used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Adam Smith (185-92, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 25 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Brandon Sherrod (198-92, college: Yale) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Roseto. Jesi moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Roseto dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Jesi will face higher ranked Udine APU (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
