Second Stage Round 6: Novy Jicin - USK Praha B 91-70

There was a minor upset when 13th ranked USK Praha B (12-11) was rolled over on the road by sixteenth ranked Novy Jicin (9-15) 91-70 on Sunday. Novy Jicin dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to USK Praha B's 38 and made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Novy Jicin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by USK Praha B's players. USK Praha B was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Jan Stehlik (185-86) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Tadeas Janik (201-94) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Novy Jicin players scored in double figures. Novy Jicin's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Radek Farsky (192-99) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jakub Tuma (192-98) scored 20 points. Newly promoted Novy Jicin maintains sixteenth position in Places 13-20 with 9-15 record. Loser USK Praha B dropped to the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Novy Jicin will face GBA Sparta (#18) in Praha in the next round.
