Regular Season Round 31: CFBB - Rennes 64-76

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-31) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-64 loss to seventeenth ranked Union Rennes (12-19) in Paris. CFBB was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 39-24 second half run of Union Rennes. Union Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 30. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 4 assists. Ghanian-American Asenso Ampim (203-88, college: Columbia, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Ivan Fevrier (203-99) came up with 9 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Yanik Blanc (184-99) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for CFBB in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Union Rennes maintains seventeenth place with 12-19 record. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings. Union Rennes' next round opponent will be higher ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (#12) in Bischwiller and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CFBB will play on the road against Orchesien BC (#6) in Orchies and hopes to get finally their first victory.
