PeKa held off HyPo to draw things level at 1-1. The hosts trailed by 12 points at the halftime before their 42-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Peli-Karhut dominated on the defensive end, holding HyPo to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to HyPo's 24. Peli-Karhut forced 24 HyPo turnovers. Strangely HyPo outrebounded Peli-Karhut 38-25 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Akilah Sims (178-94, college: IUPUI) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Amanda Lassiter (186-79, college: Missouri) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) produced 27 points and 4 assists and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests.
