Maccabi Ashdod grabbed the lead in D1 Finals. They upset Maccabi Ramat Gan on the road in the opener. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-53. Maccabi Ashdod dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi Ramat Gan to just 7 points in second quarter. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Tiffany Hayes (177-89, college: Connecticut) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Adan Inbar used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) answered with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ramat Gan. Four Maccabi Ramat Gan players scored in double figures.
