Quarter-Finals Round 3: Helsinki Seagulls - Kouvot 99-94

Helsinki outgunned Kouvot to secure 2-1 advantage. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 42-32 Kouvot's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 99-94 at the end of the game. Helsinki Seagulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 36 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Helsinki Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Kouvot was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Conley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard James Sinclair (190-93, college: W.Carolina) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Five Helsinki Seagulls and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
