Helsinki outgunned Kouvot to secure 2-1 advantage. The hosts were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 42-32 Kouvot's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 99-94 at the end of the game. Helsinki Seagulls dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 36 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Helsinki Seagulls players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Kouvot was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Conley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Michael Cuffee (195-83, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard James Sinclair (190-93, college: W.Carolina) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kouvot. Five Helsinki Seagulls and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
